No, Ringworm is not the same with shingles. Ringworm or what known as tinea corporis is actually common fungal infection. This caused by the microscopic organisms that live on the dead outer layer of your skin.

The different with shingles who may attack people that used to have chickenpox before, this Ringworm can even attack anybody at anytime. The same thing between Ringworm and shingles is that they both are estimated able to have long term risk even forever.

This Ringworm would easily develops in warm or tropical country or through some one else who was infected or through the pet. It would be easily spread and grow in your body if you have a weak immune system such as AIDS or leukemia or even diabetic then you would have a bigger risk and could make this ringworm develop and grows faster.

How to avoid it ? You have to avoid direct contact with infected people, animals or pet, or other subject that has fungal infection as well as from the soil. The problem you have if you delay the medical help could be as worst as shingles.

In shingles when you have delay medication you may loose your eyeshight, having pneumonia, some organs would not be functioning, hearing problem, also other thing that related with nerve or brain.

This happened due to shingles is very related with the nerve system and therefore it could cause the person died as well. With ringworm the effect that you may have is almost the same, this also could cause you to death. However this ringworm would have more concentrate in attacking and effecting your skin rather than brain or nerve.

Who’s at the risk of this ringworm ? as this is actually a kind of skin disease so as also mentioned above, anybody could have this risk. While shingles would attack mostly older people above 50 years old, ringworm would not select their victims by age.

They could attack anyone , anywhere especially those who has pet. So be careful and always have medical checkup of your pet as well.
